Elizabeth Rona Honored. Special Event in Honor of the late Dr. Elizabeth Rona January 31, 3:00 pm Oak Ridge Public Library AAUW members are cordially invited to attend this event to recognize the achievements of the late Dr. Elizabeth Rona, a pioneer in the nuclear field. Dr. Rona was recently installed in the Tennessee Women’s Hall of Fame, sponsored by the Tennessee Economic Council on Women. The award was accepted by Patricia Hope because Dr. Rona has no living kin. Pat will present the award to the library where it will be placed in the Oak Ridge Room along with other historic archives. Dr. Rona’s story, written by Patricia Hope, is included in the book Tennessee Women of Vision and Courage. This book, compiled and edited by Charlotte Crawford and Ruth Johnson Smiley, had its beginning as a project of AAUW of Tennessee.
